Product Owner

Koole Terminals is looking for a Product Owner to help us develop ourselves in the field of technological developments. The product owner is responsible for defining user stories and creating, managing and optimizing the product backlog in order to maximize the value of the product. As product owner you will report directly to the BI Manager/Enterprise Architect.

As product owner you will help us define the future and help us get there. You take steps independently with your knowledge and skills. Key tasks: 

  • To serve as the primary point of contact on behalf of the customer to identify the product requirements for the development team. 
  • To define,  prioritize and manage (sets of) customer requirements in a product backlog, evaluating the work done by the development team and provide constant feedback. 
  • To communicate with the development team to explain the product features to be implemented/developed. 
  • To address and coordinate queries on key user requirements that come from the development team. 
  • To maximize the value addition of the products that are developed by the agile scrum team.  
  • To collaborate and work closely with various stakeholders (i.e. customers, business leaders, development teams, project managers, and other stakeholders) to ensure that the user stories meet customer requirements.  
  • To serve as the liaison between different departments within Koole, keeping all areas of the business informed about the progress of a project. 

Education, skills, competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 year of working experience.  
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner | Six Sigma | Preferred. 
  • Preferably PMP/PMI certified (or equivalent). 
  • Ability to define testable stories, customer requirements need to be properly translated and communicated in the right technical language so that the development team can easily understand and interpret them. 
  • Ability to capture, analyze and document business and technology requirements. 
  • Domain knowledge (product and industry knowledge), ideally also understand the customer's industry and how they would be using Koole’s product.  
  • Excellent communication, and leadership skills, ensuring the ability to interact with many stakeholders, convincing them on achieving the required goal.
